Beginning

- a good start -

I was a young boy when Jesus spoke to my heart. The introduction to the faith began at Kildonan Presbyterian Church (Winnipeg). The Rev. Brian Penny had donated his time and invited boys and girls to a youth group. The place was the historical Nesbitt Hall with the old stone walls from the 1850s. This memorable event was a well-meaning way of sharing the gospel message to us teenagers.

So at the age of 13, was inspired with a desire to study the Bible (Revised Standard Version), which my grandmother had given to me. Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; your vindicator shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard (Isaiah 58:8 NRSVue).

Anointing

- calling continues -

Several years later, I was introduced to a Spirit-filled walk of faith at a non-denominational church. The date of my baptism is April 2, 1972 at Faith Temple with Pastor Ingrid Bergner, a prophetess. This was a Jesus People (born-again) anointing of love. More recently, a gratitude to Greg Laurie and Ellen Vaughn for Jesus Revolution (BakerBooks) about the organic expression: an eye-witness account from those days.

- for His glory -
